Food and Drink
Waveney River Centre is home to South Norfolk’s newest destination pub - the completely refurbished Waveney Inn pub & hotel. Our delicious menu features locally-sourced, freshly prepared dishes and a range of Adnams ales - all at affordable prices. You can choose to eat al-fresco on our huge deck overlooking the marina and marshes, or relax in the contemporary surroundings of our air conditioned bar & restaurant and admire the unique work of local artist Mark Ward - one of our lodge owners!
Menu favourites include our home made burgers, delicious fish & chips or succulent calamari. You could try one of our popular sharing boards, an all day breakfast, or a prime cut of steak from our award winning butcher, Pepperells.
Other places to eat locally
For a quick snack, try Eddie’s Poolside Café, overlooking our indoor heated pool. Sandwiches, jacket potatoes and home-made cakes are available every morning from Easter to October, and until 5:00 pm during the summer holidays.
There are 2 other village pubs within a 10 minute drive of your lodge - including the Wheatacre White Lion which is more-or-less walkable at only a mile away and has an excellent Thai menu.
Only slightly further afield, you’ll find outstanding food and drink in abundance around the Waveney Valley - with delicious treats around every corner, the area really is a haven for foodies. If you’re looking for something special, why not try The Dove Restaurant in Alburgh and for modern European cuisine, head to the Black Dog in Bungay. Also in Bungay, with an emphasis on locally-sourced produce, the Michelin recommended Castle Inn, is an excellent place for a meal. For an outstanding two AA rosette menu, try the Fox and Goose in Fressingfield, situated in the beautiful Tudor guildhall; and with a genuine rural pub atmosphere and barrel tapped real ale, the CAMRA award-winning Artichoke in Broome is a must.
As well as some great pubs and restaurants, Waveney Valley has an outstanding diversity of food and drink producers - from delicious milk and cheeses, artisan ice cream makers and pork and game producers, to breweries and vineyards, there’s an eclectic mix of local produce right on your doorstep.
