Things to do on-site at Waveney River Centre

AnglingOur luxury holiday lodges for sale can be found within the grounds of the multi award-winning Waveney River Centre holiday park, which offers beautiful views of the river & surrounding marshland, as well as offering a great selection of entertaining activities to try out.

Swimming Pool & Hot Tub
Even if you don’t fancy doing much & just want to chill out during a holiday in your very own luxury lodge, we’re sure that you’ll find it hard to resist paying a visit to our heated indoor swimming pool & hot tub. Our large pool offers plenty of space to swim & have fun and it is kept comfortably warm throughout the year. The hot tub is a great place to relax and soak your muscles if you’ve been out exploring the area or trying one of the more active activities. Our brand new changing facilities are now open & available to use, so you can get changed, showered & dried in comfort.

Day Boats
A holiday in your lodge wouldn’t be complete without a trip down the river and thanks to the on-site day boat hire, you won’t have to travel elsewhere to experience it. Go out for a quick trip or spend the whole day explore the river; there’s no rush so take as much time as you need. Why not head east and visit the beautiful Oulton Broad; there are plenty of places to moor and Nicholas Everitt Park is definitely worth visiting. If you decide to head west, you will eventually reach the riverside town of Beccles, which is also worth exploring. If you would rather stay on the water then simply cruise along and enjoy the stunning countryside views. Also, don’t forget to keep a look out for the varied wildlife of the Waveney Valley.

Kayaks & Canoes
As well as day boats, the park also offers kayak and canoe hire, which is a great alternative to a motor boat and perfectly suited to those looking to stay active during the holiday. Although you may not be able to go as far as if you had a day boat, you can still enjoy the beautiful views and tranquillity, as you glide across the water. These are great for kids, as well as adults and it’s the perfect way to get your little ones used to being on the water (as long as they’re not too young of course.)

For the fishing enthusiasts there are many scenic spots where you can set up for an afternoon of angling and thanks to the broads & rivers of Norfolk & Suffolk boasting a large variety of fish, you won’t be short of scaly things to catch. The on-site shop sells all sorts of fishing supplies, so even if you manage to forget your rod, you can pick up everything you need right here. Don’t forget that you’ll need a fishing license to fish on the Norfolk Broads but don’t worry, as these are available at your local post office.
